POSITION SUMMARY

Clean kitchen and service area, free of all debris. Remove waste and recyclable materials and dispose in proper containers, clean areas around sinks, areas of high volume garbage, and bathrooms and break areas. Maintain a weekly cleaning rotation of other areas in and around prep or service areas. Operate and maintain a mechanical floor machine, troubleshooting as needed. Communicate chemical or supplies needs with the site manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sweep, mop, clean floors managed by Nutrition Department

  • Remove garbage and recycling materials and dispose of properly

  • Properly use chemicals in a safe and adequate manner

  • Assist in inventory and order put-away as needed

  • Maintain cleaning schedule and adjust when needed

  • Monitor and understand all equipment related to production, inventory, transportation, service and sanitation

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in collaboration with kitchen staff to assist in production when time allows

  • Assume duties of other staff members on an occasional or temporary basis

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to walk and stand; talk and hear, reach, carry, push, and/or pull with hands and arms; and lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Generally the job requires occasionally kneeling, bending, climbing stairs, 5% sitting, 80% walking, and 15% standing, including periods of both intermittent and prolonged activity.
