JOB SUMMARY: 11am-7pm
The primary purpose of the Floor Technician position is to perform assigned floor care functions based on the facility's standards and procedures as directed by your supervisor and the housekeeping department and to assure resident safety.
Floor Tech Functions
Keep the resident environment clean at all times using standard procedures in cleaning and maintenance of rooms, offices and common areas
Perform specific tasks according to daily work assignments
Clean up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed
Ensure cleaning schedules are followed
Perform preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use
Secure work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work
Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing and burnishing, disinfecting, etc. in order to maintain a high gloss finish on all hard floors
Clean vacant rooms as assigned
Ensure that work/assignments areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, mealtimes, and end of the workday
Perform isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with established infection control procedures
Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers
Remove gum from floors as quickly as possible
Ensure hard floors remain free of dust and marks
Routinely check corners and edgings, ensuring they are kept dust free
Ensure baseboards are kept free of wax
Clean behind doors and equipment
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Experience
· Must have one (1) year experience in floor care; one (1) year in health care preferred.
