Position: Floor Manager

Status: Full-time Salaried

Reports to: Operations Director

Direct Reports: Bar Supervisor, FOH Supervisor, Servers,

SA’s, Restaurant Hosts, Bartenders.

The Floor Manager reports to and partners with the Operations

Director to provide guests to the Talbott Tavern an exceptional customer

experience in a warm and welcoming environment. Overseeing customer service

needs for the restaurant and bar, supervising the front of house teams and providing

support on the floor in all areas as needed. As a member of the management

team, the Floor Mgr. will also partner with all Managers communicating

effectively to ensure we provide for our customer’s needs in all areas, problem

solving to find solutions.

 Responsibilities &

Expectations

•      

Collaborates with Management team to schedule

FOH team members in a timely manner in line with budgeted labor costs. Cutting

staff and providing additional coverage as needed daily.

•      

Fills job roles as needed to provide service to

guests and during quieter times ensuring labor goals are met.

•      

Reports any staff concerns immediately to the Operations

Director and assists in strategies to address the concerns.

•      

Provides support for the restaurant and bar

staff to ensure a high-quality dining experience at The Tavern, catered events,

and group function.

•      

Ensures all staff follow proper hygiene and food

handling standards.

•      

In collaboration with the FOH and Bar Leads, oversees

the training of new front of house employees to ensure familiarity with all

aspects of the position and compliance with standards set during onboarding and

hiring process.

•      

Attends weekly one on one meeting with

Operations Director and GM, providing updates on any FOH activity, staffing

needs and concerns. Communicating with staff relevant information discussed

during the meeting.

•      

Ensures FOH team members complete assigned tasks

and checklists, providing follow up and reporting on any discrepancies.

•      

Assists in monthly inventory counts acting as a

good steward for resources.

•      

Collaborates with the FOH and Bar teams to

report any purchasing needs to meet daily par needs for the restaurant and bar.

•      

Remains current on industry trends and job

requirements by remaining aware of new compliance standards and regulations

ensuring FOH team meet these. Including relevant certifications for food safety

and alcohol training.

Responsibilities for all members of the Management team.

•      

Complete manager logs daily to effectively

communicate any vital information about the shift. In addition, reporting any

maintenance concerns or issues promptly to the Operations Director.

•      

Assists the GM in meeting all HR goals by

communicating and enforcing expectations, policies, and procedures and

following onboarding and training guidelines. Promptly addressing any personnel conflicts so that they do not interfere

with job performance or guest experience.

•      

Encourage a healthy work environment

creating a workplace culture supporting teamwork.

•      

Supports a culture of communication and

cooperation among all staff and teams.

•      

Is familiar with emergency procedures and able

to follow protocol if anything arises to ensure the safety of guests and

staff. 

•      

Appropriately represents the organization in all

interactions.

Education and Experience

•      

Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years equivalent

experience in Hospitality and Restaurant Field.

•      

Experience in utilizing customer management

software including POS, PMS and restaurant reservation/booking.

•      

Experience in catering and event services is a

plus.

•      

Experience with employee scheduling and use of

software to facilitate this.

 Working

Environment and Physical requirements

•      

Requires working a flexible schedule that

includes weekends, and holidays. The schedule requires providing coverage

during Restaurant hours and ensuring closing coverage is provided.

•      

Requires availability by phone or email outside

of typical working hours.

•      

Includes minimal office work, but predominantly in

the restaurant for longer periods of time.

•      

Sit and stand for considerable lengths of time.
