Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer in Jupiter, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer will design, build, install, maintain, and upgrade airborne data-acquisition and measurement systems for rotor-wing aircraft. This role supports flight-test operations, laboratory builds, aircraft modifications, system integration, calibration, checkout, and long-term instrumentation-system sustainment.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience using multichannel data-acquisition and recording systems.
• Experience designing or supporting airborne instrumentation and measurement systems.
• Experience with instrumentation installation, system integration, calibration, and checkout.
• Experience supporting flight-test operations in a high-OPTEMPO environment.
• Familiarity with Curtiss-Wright or TTC data-system hardware.
• Familiarity with aircraft avionics buses.
• Experience supporting rotor-wing aircraft, airborne systems, or aircraft modifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot data-acquisition hardware, instrumentation wiring, sensors, and recording systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based flight-test and engineering environment.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

What You’ll Do

• Design and manage data-acquisition and measurement systems based on flight-test program requirements.
• Build, install, and integrate airborne instrumentation systems on rotor-wing aircraft.
• Support instrumentation-system calibration, checkout, and functional verification.
• Configure and operate multichannel data-acquisition and recording equipment.
• Support flight-test activities, laboratory builds, and aircraft modification programs.
• Maintain and upgrade airborne data-acquisition systems.
• Integrate instrumentation hardware with aircraft avionics buses and related systems.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, recording, communication, and data-quality issues.
• Support system sustainment throughout the flight-test lifecycle.
• Coordinate with flight-test engineers, aircraft technicians, laboratory personnel, and other technical teams.
• Maintain accurate configuration, installation, calibration, and test documentation.

Pay

• $50.00–$60.00 per hour
