Position Summary

Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Assistant Supervisor supports and coordinates daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, material handling, inventory movement, organization, and documentation. This role provides floor-level leadership by helping maintain workflow, reinforcing SOPs, supporting training, monitoring safety and SQF expectations and helping ensure accurate ERP data entry. This role works closely with various teams to resolve issues, improve warehouse flow, and support a safe, organized, and efficientwarehouse environment.

An ideal applicant will be dependable, safety-minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting daily warehouse flow while working alongside and coaching the team.
  • Assistant Warehouse Supervisor $28/hr + $4 Flex Premium when deployed on the Flex Shift
  • Standard shift is Tues - Fri, 7:00a - 5:30p (Note: Possible change to 8a - 6:30p based on future delivery and receiving with adequate notice)
  • Flex Deployment Shift: Fri - Sun 6a - 6:30p (3) 12s (Note: Possible change to 7a - 7:30p based on future delivery and receiving needs with adequate notice)
General Duties/Responsibilities

Floor Leadership & Operational Support
  • Provide day-to-day floor leadership and work direction to warehouse associates to help ensure proper procedures are followed and assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support warehousing operations by assisting the Warehouse Manager with coordinating daily workflow and reinforcing operational policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Support both warehouse shift operations by monitoring safety, security, and operational procedures and escalating concerns as needed.
  • Help maintain the physical condition and organization of the warehouse by ensuring layout expectations are followed and monitoring stacks, staging areas, and traffic flow to support a safe environment.
Leadership, Coaching & Team Development
  • Model behavior that sets the tone for honesty, integrity, hard work, accountability, and respect, and reinforce the same expectations across the warehouse team.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to support individual and team performance.
  • Support and verify that employees are trained and cross-trained in a fair, consistent, and efficient manner.
  • Identify, document, and escalate performance, conduct, or training concerns in a timely, consistent, and confidential manner under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager.
SOP, Safety & Housekeeping
  • Lead by example, completing all safety training sessions, motivating warehouse team members to do the same, to support a culture of safety awareness.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are known, followed, and reinforced through daily coaching and observation.
  • Help ensure the team is working in a safe manner and promptly report safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free warehouse environment by leading by example and coaching team members as needed.
  • Promptly report all safety and health incidents and actively participate in investigations, root cause review, and corrective action follow-up to help reduce future risk.
ERP, Inventory & Data Accuracy
  • Gain proficiency working in the ERP system to train and assist the team in maintaining compliance and completing real-time ERP data entry across warehouse operations.
  • Support and help maintain the accuracy of packaging ERP data by monitoring entries, identifying discrepancies, and escalating or correcting issues as appropriate.
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities
  • Follow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the same.
  • Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment.
  • If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Experience operating forklift, standup lift, powered pallet jack and other warehouse equipment in a safe manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational priorities and warehouse needs.
  • Capable of navigating a variety of computer software applications.
  • Previous ERP experience required; NetSuite experience a plus.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with providing floor-level leadership, coach team members, and positively influence others without direct supervisory authority.
  • Effective at reinforcing SOPs, safety expectations, housekeeping standards, and accurate documentation practices.
  • Ability to support training and cross-training across warehouse functions.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends, and schedule adjustments as required to support business operations.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED or degree required
  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, or distribution experience required; equivalent internal experience demonstrating readiness for an Assistant Supervisor role may be considered
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a fork lift or standup lift required
    • NOTE - Must pass hands on demonstration of proficiency operating mobile equipment during the interview process
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
  • For 8-hour shifts, employees receive one 30-minute unpaid meal period and two paid 15-minute rest breaks. For 10-hour shifts, employees receive one 30-minute unpaid meal period and three paid 15-minute rest breaks
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment with moving machinery, conveyors, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other industrial hazards
  • Must be able to safely wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, hair restraints, beard restraints, protective footwear, and other PPE as required
  • Must be able to safely perform work in accordance with company safety policies, GMP requirements, food safety standards, and operating procedures
  • May be exposed to elevated noise levels, wet or slippery surfaces, temperature fluctuations, manufacturing dust, fermentation byproducts, and other manufacturing-related hazard
  • Work areas may include hot, cold, humid, refrigerated, and outdoor environments
  • Must maintain situational awareness and safely work around production equipment, mobile equipment, and other personnel
  • Duties may include lifting, moving, and handling raw materials, finished goods, equipment, machine components, and production supplies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance
