Job Summary

CBRE is seeking skilled and reliable Fleet Technicians to support technical projects across a growing fleet of trucks, trailers, and vans. This role serves as a frontline field execution resource, responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and validating equipment at client sites.

Technicians will perform hands-on work including automotive wiring, installation of vehicle technology, and light mechanical repairs. This is a mobile, field-based position, requiring travel to multiple locations within an assigned region using a company-provided vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to fleet and client locations within your assigned region.
  • Perform on-site installation and configuration of vehicle technology, including telematics, cameras, sensors, and other systems.
  • Execute automotive wiring, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct light mechanical work such as equipment mounting, component installation, and minor repairs.
  • Test and validate all installed systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Follow established SOPs, safety standards, and quality benchmarks to ensure consistent execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time while in the field.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, including installation reports, time tracking, and parts usage.
  • Manage tools, equipment, and inventory of materials required for installations.
  • Provide basic on-site guidance or training to stakeholders on installed equipment when applicable.
  • Identify and escalate risks, delays, or technical challenges to leadership.
  • Collaborate with program teams and leadership to support throughput targets and project timelines.

Travel & Work Expectations

  • High travel role (regional coverage with frequent movement between sites).
  • Work performed at customer locations, fleet yards, and maintenance environments.
  • Flexibility to support varying schedules, including occasional nights or weekends based on project demands.
  • Use of a company-provided vehicle, tools, and equipment.
  • Hands-on work requiring lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and working in tight or outdoor environments.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in fleet service, automotive installation, field service, or technical roles.
  • Experience with automotive wiring, electrical systems, diagnostics, or vehicle upfitting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation instructions.
  • Comfortable working independently in fast-paced, field-based environments.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a technician, mechanic, or engineer working on a variety of equipment.
  • Experience working on commercial fleets (trucks, trailers, vans) preferred.
  • Background in telematics, GPS systems, dash cameras, or fleet technologies.
  • ASE certification or technical training (preferred but not required).
  • Experience working within structured SOPs and safety-driven environments.
