Tomales Bay Foods, home of the Cowgirl Creamery, is looking for an enthusiastic leader to help guide our Delivery team. This position is responsible for providing direction and coaching for staff while meeting daily and weekly goals in the most efficient manner possible, with an emphasis on customer service, safety and accuracy. This role oversees all daily routing of deliveries, maintains communication with our drivers to address any delivery issues and find viable solutions for our customers, and covers delivery routes as needed (approximately 50% of time spent on the road).

  

Title: Fleet Supervisor  

Classification: Non-exempt  

Reports to: Warehouse & Distribution Manager  

Core Hours/Work Days: Mon-Fri, Business Hours, Subject to Change  

  

Summary: This position provides leadership and coaching for Drivers, directing the smooth, friendly and efficient operation of the Fleet and following regular maintenance programs.  

  

Certification requirements: Forklift certification, Clean MVR  

  

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:  

  


  1. Responsible for establishing routes to be efficient and safe.  
  2. Assigns Routes to drivers.  
  3. Ship confirms routes in a timely manner after orders have been verified for accuracy.  
  4. Schedules Drivers.  
  5. Updates daily route information in Samsara and optimize route efficiency based on daily orders.  
  6. Responsible for vehicle upkeep and associated paperwork, Preventative Maintenance and signage.  
  7. Using the TBF Driver Training manual, trains all drivers and provides refresher training on a quarterly basis. 
  8. Responsible for implementing and maintaining safe warehousing and driving practices.  
  9. Performs consistent ride along and provides direct reports feedback in Biweekly 1-2-1 sessions 
  10. Monitors established KPI’s and provides feedback and coaching to ensure all team members are adhering to protocols and SOP’s  
  11. Scheduling routine maintenance with third party services to ensure compliance with internal calibrations.

Travel: This position regularly travels in company vans to customers on delivery routes throughout the area.  

  

Work Environment: This position works primarily in a warehouse environment and regularly spends time in a delivery van, getting in and out of the refrigerated area to move product for customers. Some time in a typical office environment is also expected.   

  

Physical Demands:   

The demands described here are representative of those typically encountered in this role.  

  • Remain stationary for long periods of time and move about on wet concrete floors.  
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time at a workstation desk, operating a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.  
  • Perform sustained repetitive motions, using extreme manual force, and using body parts such as fingers, hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.  
  • Position self to properly complete the task at hand. This may involve turning all or parts of the body, or bending downward in order to place or reach an object at a lower level.  
  • Ability operate heavy equipment.  
  • Extend above the shoulder in order to place or retrieve objects.  
  • Ability to grasp, raise, lower and/or move objects of various sizes and weights:  
  • Individually regularly manipulate objects weighing up to 20lbs  
  • With assistance regularly manipulate objects weighing from 21lbs to 30lbs  
  • Occasionally with assistance manipulate objects weighing from 31lbs to 85lbs.  

  

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:  

  • 2+ years of delivery experience in cargo vans or larger vehicles.  
  • 1+ years' experience in a high-volume deadline driven warehouse environment  
  • 2+ years supervisory experience preferred  
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Pay range is $27-36/hr, new placements can expect to start at the beginning of range.
