The Heritage Project includes 16 power generation facilities across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Ohio. These sites feature a diverse fleet of combined-cycle units, dual-fuel turbines, and subcritical boilers supporting natural gas, oil, and gas-fired generation, delivering safe, reliable, and efficient power throughout the region.
Opportunity Summary
Based at the Shawville Generating Station, the Fleet Outage Manager plans, coordinates, and executes major maintenance outages for assigned Heritage Project generating facilities. This position oversees the complete outage lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, contractor management, execution, documentation, and continuous improvement to maximize equipment reliability and plant availability while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Your scope of responsibility as Fleet Outage Manager includes the following primary functions:
- Lead the planning and execution of planned and forced outages for combined-cycle units, dual-fuel turbines, subcritical boilers, and associated balance-of-plant systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective completion.
- Develop integrated outage schedules, work packages, manpower plans, resource strategies, and critical path activities that support multiple facilities while minimizing generation impacts and outage duration.
- Coordinate outage activities among Plant Managers, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, contractors, vendors, OEM representatives, and project stakeholders throughout planning, execution, and closeout.
- Manage outage budgets, labor forecasts, contractor costs, procurement activities, and schedule performance while identifying opportunities to improve outage efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, specialty tooling, rental equipment, scaffolding, cranes, and contractor services while ensuring required resources are available before outage execution.
- Lead outage planning meetings, readiness reviews, daily coordination meetings, and project update sessions while resolving issues, maintaining project schedules, and coordinating priorities across multiple generating facilities.
- Oversee contractor and vendor performance, ensuring compliance with project safety procedures, technical specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Ensure outage activities comply with OSHA, applicable environmental regulations, project procedures, and all applicable safety and operational standards.
- Support Management of Change (MOC), equipment inspections, predictive maintenance recommendations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and reliability initiatives that improve future outage performance across the Heritage Project.
- Monitor outage performance through safety metrics, schedule adherence, equipment reliability, work quality, and cost performance while providing regular status updates to project and plant leadership.
- Maintain accurate outage documentation, including work packages, schedules, technical reports, turnover packages, lessons learned, and final outage closeout records.
- Provide leadership, technical guidance, and effective communication throughout the outage lifecycle while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of safe, reliable, and efficient project operations.

Working Relationships
The Fleet Outage Manager reports directly to the Operations Director, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Shawville Generating Station Plant Manager. This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, contractors, vendors, OEM representatives, and project stakeholders to support safe and efficient outage execution across the Heritage Project.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Power plant environment that may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions.
Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
The Fleet Outage Manager typically works a Monday through Friday day shift schedule. Extended hours, flexible schedules, weekends, holidays, and periodic on-call responsibilities may be required to support outage schedules, workload demands, and plant conditions.
Regular travel between the Shawville Generating Station and assigned Heritage Project generating facilities is required to support outage planning and execution. Occasional travel to other Heritage Project locations, training, and business meetings may also be required.
Compensation
This position offers an annual base salary ranging from $128,500 to $150,000 and includes eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
Professional Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent power generation, industrial, or military experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Demonstrated experience planning and leading major maintenance outages within utility-scale power generation or large industrial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of utility-scale power generation equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, boilers, generators, balance-of-plant systems, and associated auxiliary equipment.
- Experience developing integrated outage schedules, work packages, manpower plans, critical path schedules, and resource strategies using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent scheduling software.
- Proficiency with CMMS applications such as Maximo, SAP, or equivalent maintenance management systems used to manage outage planning, work orders, equipment history, and maintenance documentation.
- Experience managing outage budgets, contractor performance, procurement activities, outage logistics, and field execution across multiple projects or generating facilities.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, and industry best practices, with the ability to ensure compliance with applicable safety, maintenance, and operational requirements.
- Experience coordinating outage activities among Plant Managers, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, contractors, OEM representatives, and third-party service providers.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with experience supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, reliability improvements, and continuous process improvement.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, lead cross-functional teams, and support successful outage execution across multiple generating facilities.
- Ability to travel regularly between Heritage Project generating facilities throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Ohio.
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.
