The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of bakery vehicles including route and transport trucks, trailers, and converter dollies. This role may also support maintenance and repair of forklifts and related equipment. Accurate documentation of all work performed is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform PMs and safety inspections on gas, diesel, and propane vehicles
Replace and repair brakes, radiators, starters, alternators, pumps, exhaust systems, batteries, and related components
Reassemble overhauled engines and reinstall into vehicles
Assist trailer or truck mechanics as needed
Maintain service records and a clean, safe work environment

Shift and Hours:
Tuesday through Saturday
7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Qualifications:
Experience repairing and diagnosing diesel and gasoline trucks (propane experience preferred)
Knowledge of engine, chassis, and body repair
Welding experience
Air brake repair and DOT inspection certification required
Must provide own mechanic tools (tool inventory required)
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to pass DOT Physical
High school diploma or GED
21 years or older
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting of 25-50 lbs
Standing for 8 hours; repetitive bending, kneeling, and lifting
Work under/over equipment and at heights using ladders or lifts
