This role involves skilled mechanical work in maintaining and repairing diverse fleet vehicles and equipment, including electric vehicles, trucks, police and firefighting vehicles, snow removal, and heavy machinery.
Essential duties include diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, brake, cooling, suspension, electronic, and hydraulic systems; operating vehicles for testing; performing emergency repairs; fabricating parts; conducting inspections; tire services; preventive maintenance; and documentation using fleet software.
Qualifications include a high school diploma, vocational training or equivalent experience, valid Class B CDL (within 6 months), Vermont Inspection license, and ability to obtain ASE, emergency vehicle technician, and forklift certifications.
