Job Description
The City of Williston is seeking to hire a Fleet and Facilities Maintenance Manager to serve the Williston Fire Department.
Summary:
The Fleet and Facilities Maintenance Manager oversees and maintains an effective fleet and facilities maintenance program that prolongs the life of department apparatus, ensures safe operation of all equipment, and completes repairs in a timely manner. This position involves extensive knowledge of all fire & EMS apparatus and equipment maintenance needs. The Fleet and Facilities Manager is responsible for various operations including but not limited to apparatus and vehicle service records; purchasing and inventory; repair and maintenance to department facilities and apparatus and operations of a maintenance team.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations & Experience:
Training opportunities available to obtain desired certifications for incumbents who have met the minimum certificate, license, and registration requirements.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and the public.

Regular communication with Fire Department personnel, other City of Williston departments and employees, third parties, outside representatives, community members and groups, as needed.
Use of Equipment and/or Computers:
Regular use of technology and equipment for job-related functions will be required including but not limited to computers, phones, printers and equipment pertaining to fire prevention, suppression and pre-hospital emergency medical care.
Physical Demands:
Standing in work areas, walking between work areas, and driving to various locations will be required. There will be a regular expectation to pull, push, reach, walk, stand, sit, crawl, kneel, bend and have the use of hands and fingers, use of both eyes for sight, including ability to distinguish color and distance, hearing, extensive use of arms and legs to climb on top of, under, in and around equipment and facilities; work in proximity and use of computer screens; verbally communicating, and moving objects. The employee must be able to physically move, lift, carry and manipulate up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
While this position is primarily located in an office setting, there will be work performed in the field at Fire/EMS scenes. The employee will work at all City of Williston Fire Department facilities and is expected to keep work areas clean, safe, and functional. The employee frequently works in both indoor and outdoor weather environments. The employee may be exposed to demanding, hazardous conditions with frequent exposure to smoke, extreme temperatures, loud noises, chemicals, and physical dangers like heights, traffic, and collapsing structures, requiring constant readiness. Essential functions require maintaining condition necessary for sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is moderate but can occasionally be loud.
Work Schedule:
This position typically works Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM. There is an expectation of occasional work to be done outside the typical schedule (irregular fleet and/or maintenance issues that occur after hours).
The employee may be required to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance is required.
