Description
SUMMARY: Plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operations of both the Fleet and Sanitation Subdivisions of the Public Works Department. Act in the capacity of Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Riverton, working closely with the Fremont County Emergency Management Program. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining and Entry-Level Driver Training Program for employees of the City of Riverton, in accordance with 49 CFR part 383.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and manage skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled personnel related to fleet, sanitation, green waste, and recycling functions.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work under the general supervision of the Operations Division Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in equipment operation, fleet, and personnel management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend complex documents, correspondence, and memos. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints. Ability to prepare and present oral presentations, written articles, and responses. Ability to write relatively complex procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and presentations on controversial or complex topics in one-on-one and small group situations, including the governing body, public groups, and boards and commissions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Skills may include the ability to work with concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to operate specific equipment. Ability to work with specific software. Must be organized and able to manage multiple deadlines. Must have good personal relation and dispute resolution skills. Must be able to provide administrative and professional leadership and direction in the area of fleet and sanitation management.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Wyoming Commercial Drivers License of the required status; ability to be insured under the Citys municipal automobile insurance coverage; must be at least 18 years of age.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Moderate exposure to gasoline fumes, diesel fumes, oils and solvents common to a mechanical repair shop. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
