Fixed Asset Accountant

Responsibilities80% of their work is fixed asset – $18M in assetts20% is sales tax returns, business license renewals and reportingEmphasis on fixed asset, sales tax & OracleA lot of data entry and manipulationModifying data that comes from corporateCreate and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assetsRecommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assetsAssign tag numbers to fixed assetsRecord fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting systemTrack the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completedReconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledgerCalculate depreciation for all fixed assetsReview and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciationCalculate asset retirement obligations for those fixed assets to which AROs are applicableInvestigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assetsConduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assetsConduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assetsRecommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed ofConduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by managementPrepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiriesPrepare property tax returnsRepresent the company during any audits by a government that involve fixed assetsT rack company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizationsQualificationsStrong ExcelExperience with an ERP system, preferably OracleMethodical & systematic individualBackground check and drug test will be administeredMinimum of 3 years of related experience as Fixed Asset Accountant priorAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Eligible for full discounted benefits after 30 days of employment$500 referral fee if you send anyone in your network and they get place#J-18808-Ljbffr
