The Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) is more than just an exercise facility; it is a centralized hub and resource for the residents of Dublin and nearby communities. Fitness Attendants are needed to ensure the safe, healthy, clean and efficient functioning of the fitness/wellness areas of the DCRC.
Scheduling/Availability
- The scheduling process is flexible with a variety of shifts available including days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Examples of Duties
Under the direction of the Fitness Coordinator and Group Fitness Specialist, Fitness Attendant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring the use of the equipment and fitness areas during open fitness hours
- Providing patrons with customer service, feedback and guidance in proper use of the fitness equipment
- Instructing patrons in proper use of the fitness equipment through group and individual orientations (the candidate will assume an advisory role in assisting members with exercise programs)
- Conducting body composition testing on patrons, which may include the collecting and handling of sensitive and confidential medical information
- Assisting with group fitness check-ins
- Cleaning fitness equipment and classroom spaces
- Maintaining clean towels and cleaning spray bottles
- Setting up and tearing down the fitness floor and class room spaces as needed for various activities and groups
- Supervising the opening and closing procedures of the fitness areas of the DCRC
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 14 years of age or older
- Current American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
- Experience working with a variety of fitness equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and courteously with the public
- Experience using computers
- Ability to lift and move objects, including weights and fitness machines
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of human anatomy
- Completed degree or degree in progress
- Experience in designing, implementing and monitoring individual exercise programs for a variety of skill levels
- Experience in fitness testing
- Personal training certification from ACSM, NSCA, ACE or NASM
