Allina Health is looking for a part-time Fitness and Aquatics Representative to support the CKRI Aquatics and Fitness Golden Valley! Come join an amazing team!

0.5 FTE (40 hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour day/evening shifts Every weekend

Job Description:

Provides fitness and aquatic programs for clients in a safe and supervised environment for the promotion of wellness to maximize functional independence.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Conducts and assists clients with aquatic, fitness and activity based and locomotive exercise (ABLE) programs. • Conducts 1:1 instruction and hands-on assistance to clients. • Monitors clients progress and makes program changes to facilitate clients maximum independence and achieve fitness goals. • Manages and supervises program members during fitness time, provide assistance and coaching on proper exercise technique. • Responds to emergency situations so that Emergency Action Plan is effectively carried out. • Maintains a safe environment for all clients. • May support ABLE assessments and exercise programs. • May provide lifeguarding if fitness program is aquatic. • May perform aquatics and fitness assessments and design exercise programs. • Completes necessary documentation. • Performs administrative tasks. • Ensures compliance with all applicable legal requirements and accreditation standards. • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Associates or Vocational degree Physical Therapy Assistant, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or other health related field Bachelors degree in Health and Exercise Science or Bachelors degree in Kinesiology or Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

0 to 2 years experience in teaching aquatic skills Licenses/Certifications: • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association • Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross • Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days) ACSM Certification - Inclusive Fitness Trainer or Certified Exercise Physiologist preferred Lifeguard Certification from American Red Cross within 2 weeks of hire required

Physical Demands:

Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $23.22 to $31.83 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
