This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Part-Time FirstBank Southwest Center - Weekend Supervisor who will be all-in on our mission and who will supervise all aspects of FirstBank Southwest Center during assigned hours. The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the FirstBank Southwest (FBSW) Center during assigned weekend hours (Friday and/or Saturday - Sunday). This role ensures a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all patrons by supervising facilities, staff, and programs. The supervisor plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service and fostering community engagement through fitness and recreational activities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred: Associate Degree or higher.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • One (1) year of supervisory experience in a customer service or recreational setting.

Preferred:

  • Experience in fitness center operations, event coordination, or higher education environments.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

Preferred:

  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Group or Personal trainer certification

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Open and close the FBSW Center during scheduled hours.
  • Monitor access to the facility, verifying that only authorized members and guests are permitted entry.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, coordinating with staff to address any issues promptly.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise student workers and part-time staff during weekend shifts.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff, stepping in to cover shifts when necessary to maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Assist in developing cleaning and maintenance schedules, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Coordinate and supervise weekend events, including volleyball games, tournaments, fitness classes, and special events.
  • Manage setup and teardown for events, including arranging equipment, furniture, and court configurations as needed.
  • Ensure all events run smoothly, addressing any issues that arise promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee front desk operations, including membership sales, court and locker rentals, and handling inquiries.
  • Process financial transactions accurately, managing cash and card procedures, and reconciling deposits with the Center Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, supplies, and equipment, assisting with monthly inventory checks.
  • Conduct routine inspections of workout equipment and courts, completing paperwork for any necessary repairs.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed, responding to emergencies and incidents according to established procedures.
  • Assist with lifting and storing facility equipment and products to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Perform other work-related duties as required.

Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.

Pay grade 7 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds or less throughout assigned work day. Must be able to stand and walk around for extended periods of time. The ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

Working Environment: Small and very large crowds of people on a regular basis. FBSW Center promotes health, wellness, sports, academic success and excellence as part of Amarillo College. Target audience is AC students, AC faculty/staff, community members, athletic program/event personnel and spectators, and various event personnel of all ages and backgrounds.
