Job Description:
- Calculate load spread for proper hoist procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to properly use chain falls and come-along, straps, slings, black and tackle, pulleys, booms, and proper anchor points for safe operations.
- Use hand signals and communicate with crane operators to ensure all lifting and handling functions are done safely.
- Determine appropriate rigging equipment and methods based on load weight, type, and movement.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate rigging operations and ensure clear communication during operations.
- Identify and resolve issues related to rigging equipment or techniques, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Inspect rigging equipment for wear and tear, perform regular maintenance, and replace parts as needed to ensure safety and functionality.
Job Requirements:
- Must have reliable/own transportation.
- Must be eligible for DBIDS.
- Comfortable with heights and working in confined spaces in extreme temperatures.
- Lift 50lbs without assistance.
- Must possess their own basic hand tools.
- Must understand the layout of the ship and compartment identification.
- Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
