Job Title: FIREARM RETAIL STORE MANAGER

Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable, responsible, and customer-focused Firearm Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations of our firearm retail location. This role requires strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and a commitment to safety, compliance, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate has retail management experience, in-depth knowledge of firearms and accessories, and a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local firearm laws.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations
Manage day-to-day retail operations, including opening/closing procedures
Oversee inventory control, purchasing, merchandising, and loss prevention
Maintain accurate ATF-compliant records and documentation
Ensure all firearm storage and safety protocols are strictly followed
Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet revenue goals
Compliance & Regulation
Ensure strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local firearm regulations
Maintain accurate acquisition & disposition (A&D) records
Prepare for and manage ATF inspections
Stay current on changing firearm laws and industry regulations
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff
Provide ongoing product education and compliance training
Create employee schedules and manage payroll budgets
Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability
Customer Service & Sales
Deliver exceptional customer service to both new and experienced firearm owners
Provide accurate product information on firearms, optics, ammunition, and accessories
Address customer inquiries, concerns, and special orders
Build relationships with local customers and community partners
Qualifications
3+ years of retail management experience (firearm industry preferred)
Strong knowledge of firearms, ammunition, optics, and related accessories
Working knowledge of ATF regulations and compliance requirements
Experience with POS systems and inventory management software
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to pass required background checks
Must meet all legal requirements to handle and sell firearms
Preferred Qualifications
Federal Firearms License experience managing an FFL business
Experience conducting firearm transfers and background checks
Prior experience with firearms training or range operations
Knowledge of current market trends and product lines
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Safe handling of firearms and ammunition
