Leading architectural and engineering firm is adding a Senior Fire Protection Engineering Supervisor to their San Francisco team!
Responsibilities:
Design/review fire protection and life safety systems
Coordinate project with other disciplines
Participate in design review meetings
Prepare comprehensive fire protection packages (fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke management and life safety)
Create specification documentation and perform calculations for fire suppression and alarm systems
Evaluate building/life safety requirements
Perform construction administration duties
Coordinate approval for all stages of project with local authorities
Perform site evaluations and document existing fire protection systems
Comply with company and site safety policies
Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree from ABET accredited program
Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering preferred
5+ years of fire protection engineering experience
Registered Fire Protection PE
Proficient in standard engineering techniques/procedures
Knowledge of the International Code Council (ICC), NFPA 101, NFPA 13, and NFPA 72
NICET certification in Water-Based System Layout, Fire Alarm Systems, or Special Hazards Systems a plus (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies)
Working knowledge of building codes, fire codes, NFPA standards, FM Global datasheets, military standards, and refinery/industrial API guidelines
Experience with Revit, BIM, and Microsoft Office skills
