The Position
The Port of Portland Fire Department is hiring a Fire Prevention & Training Assistant
Being a Fire Prevention & Training Assistant at the Port means helping keep Portland International Airport (PDX) safe through fire prevention, life safety education, and training support. This role offers hands-on experience in public safety, inspections, and emergency preparedness while providing opportunities to build skills and grow within the fire service.
As a Fire Prevention & Training Assistant, you will support the daily implementation of the departments prevention and training programs. Responsibilities include conducting inspections and maintenance of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and fire extinguishers, assisting with fire and life safety inspections, and facilitating CPR and fire extinguisher training. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build experience in public safety, emergency preparedness, and fire service operations.
