The City of Chandler Fire Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as the Fire Marshal. The position is scheduled to work 5 days, 8 hours.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

The City of Chandler Fire Department is a progressive, internationally accredited organization with an ISO Class 1 rating and a distinguished history of service to the community. City charter authorizes the Department to mitigate all hazards, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and crisis intervention. In support of those functions, the Fire Department staffs a fire prevention division, EMS and training divisions, mechanical maintenance facility, community preparedness office, and Department administration.

Minimum qualifications
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
The City of Chandler will conduct a driving record check and reference check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.

These policies have not been altered by the passage of Proposition 207. The use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the city's Drug Free Workplace Policy. Certain positions within the city are required to submit to a pre-employment drug test. A positive result for drugs tested under the policy, including recreational marijuana, may be grounds for withdrawal of an offer of employment or volunteer opportunity. The examination process may vary if determined necessary.

Do you have a Bachelors Degree in Fire Science or Business Management?

Do you have at least 5 years of experience in fire prevention, inspection and investigation work including at least 3 years of supervisory experience?

Do you have an ICC Fire Inspector Level I and II?

Do you have an International Association of Arson Investigations (IAAI) Certification, or Arizona Certified Fire Investigator Level IV, or the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI) Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI)?

Do you have a valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record?

Is a requirement to respond to fire scenes when on-call within 1 hour. Are you within a 1 hour, or less, driving distance from the City of Chandler?
