Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Permanent Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This is an incredible opportunity to work within the construction industry, providing essential fire safety services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems, ensuring the safety and security of various commercial and residential buildings. This role requires a deep understanding of fire alarm systems, video surveillance, and access control. A background in NICET and CSA standards is also necessary. As our Fire Alarm Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our clients and their properties.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, service, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with NICET and CSA standards.
2. Perform regular maintenance checks and inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal functionality.
3. Troubleshoot and repair faults in fire alarm systems and other security systems such as video surveillance and access control systems.
4. Provide technical support and guidance to clients, explaining complex fire alarm system information in a clear and understandable manner.
5. Maintain accurate records of all installation, service, and repair work carried out.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in fire alarm system technology and safety standards.
7. Respond promptly to emergency call-outs, diagnosing and resolving issues swiftly and effectively.
8. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals on fire safety measures in building design and construction.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Fire Alarm Service Technician or in a similar role in the construction industry.
2. Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in Fire Alarm Systems.
3. Knowledge of Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standards.
4. Proven experience with video surveillance and access control systems.
5. Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults in fire alarm systems.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
7. Physically fit and able to work in various conditions, including high or confined spaces.
8. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning in fire alarm system technology and safety standards.
