Financial Reviewer

Simmons & Wheeler, P.C. is a local CPA firm specializing in Special District accounting and auditing.

The goal of this position is to have a detailed review of all financial statements and reports before going to the CPA for final review and signature. The candidate should have excellent attention to detail and communication skills to accurately discuss with the accountants any changes that need to be made.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review the financial records of Local Colorado Special Districts for accuracy and presentation
• Communicate effectively with the accountants to ensure corrections are appropriately made
• Ensure timely review of the financial records to ensure financial statements are distributed to the board members with proper time for review prior to the board meetings

We offer a flexible work environment requiring only 15 to 20 in offices days per year after the initial 3- month training period, where in office work will be required.

Requirements:

1. Bachelors in Accounting
2. 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role is preferred but not required
3. Experience in governmental accounting not required
