Position Responsibilities: The Financial Resource Program Manager is responsible for the general oversight and compliance of the Money Management and Representative Payee Programs. This includes, but is not limited to, managing the bill pay on behalf of consumers, training and supervision, program reporting and record keeping, matching volunteers with consumers, and community outreach.
Responsibilities specific to the Money Management Program:
- Manage all aspects of the Money Management Program for AgeSpan, including management of program volunteers, program reporting, and record keeping as required.
- Train and supervise volunteers for Money management programs.
- Accurately complete all monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by the Executive Office of Aging and Independence (AGE).
- Oversee and manage the quarterly monitoring of Bill Payer client accounts.
- Attend meetings of the Massachusetts Money Management Program Managers as scheduled.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the AgeSpan staff regarding active clients, new referrals, and program updates as appropriate and necessary.
- Ensure referrals are processed in a timely manner and assigned appropriately.
- Develop relationships with local banks and bank personnel.
- Conduct community outreach to promote the local program.
- Conduct field visits to assess an older adult's physical, social, emotional, and environmental status to determine their eligibility and needs in their homes in accordance with AGE regulations.
- Ensure accurate records for each consumer.
- Prepare and participate in AGE program audits.
Responsibilities specific to the Representative Payee Program:
- Oversee Representative Payee for a caseload of approximately 70 Rep payee clients.
- Establish a budget with the client when possible and ensure designated staff are paying bills for all basic needs.
- Periodically, submit a Representative Payee Report to Social Security to account for how the funds have been used.
- Ensure accurate records for each consumer.
- Work in coordination with our Fiscal Department to ensure accuracy in accounting
Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in human services or related field plus at least two years' experience in any of the following
- Banking, budgeting, and program development
- Working within elder network another related community-based setting
- Public speaking, presentations to groups and conducting trainings
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Strong computer skills and comfort with applications and programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet use
- Highly organized, with strong time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to successfully manage, train and supervise staff and volunteers
Hours: 37.5 per week
At AgeSpan, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining rate of pay. Actual rate of pay depends on factors including but not limited to internal equity, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $78,000 - $82,000/year.
