Our client, a well-established Dallas area organization, is looking to bring on a Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Contractor to support a large scale transformation initiative and assist the accounting team during a critical period of transition. The team is seeking a senior level accounting professional with strong SEC reporting and technical accounting experience who can step in quickly and operate in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. This role will support ongoing reporting requirements while also assisting with broader accounting and implementation related initiatives as needed. The environment is highly collaborative and project focused, with targeted start dates in June and an anticipated long term engagement. Hybrid work environment and candidates must be comfortable working in an office setting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting activities, including preparation of 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and related filings
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation
- Prepare and review financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules
- Support month end and quarter end close activities
- Assist with accounting policy interpretation and implementation
- Partner with accounting, finance, auditors, and cross functional teams throughout the engagement
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, special projects, and implementation related initiatives as needed
- Help ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting requirements
Requirements
- Strong background in SEC reporting and technical accounting
- Prior experience preparing or supporting public company filings
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- CPA strongly preferred
- Public accounting foundation preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Large company or public company experience highly preferred
