Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 8:00am - 5:00pm

OVERVIEW:

Working as a Full-Time Financial Reporting & Regulatory Compliance Senior Accountant, you will enjoy the opportunity to lead and perform a variety of duties, helping the company comply with its foreign statutory accounting and other obligations for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

o Developing and training others to achieve goals and to optimize business results

o Maintaining global process and oversight of legal entity statutory accounting, reporting and audit processes (internal & external) and ensuring accurate filings comply with local statutory requirements and deadlines

o Driving continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, effectiveness and control of processes related to international statutory accounting, reporting and auditing

o Designing and implementing statutory policy, procedures and reporting to standardize, simplify, automate and centralize internal and external financial reporting processes

o Leading and preparing legal entity financial statements and financial disclosures

o Establishing and documenting timelines and communicating this information to internal and external partners

o Managing and coordinating timelines and steps for multiple statutory filings and audits with internal and external parties

o Performing analysis and review of financial and operational data prepared internally and by external advisors

o Leading and participating in development projects, planning, testing and implementation

o Performing special projects and other administrative tasks as necessary

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

o 18 years of age or older

o Possess a degree in an Accounting, Finance, or related area

o Possess at least 2 years of relevant accounting work experience

o Excellent written and oral communication skills

o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

o Willingness to manage results driven projects

o Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented

o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities

o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision-making skills

o Exhibit ability to use critical thinking skills to arrive at solutions, establish structures and processes

o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency

o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

o Work independently as well as in a team environment

o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork

o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

o Previous experience using PeopleSoft

o Previous experience with accounting for non-U.S. operations, reporting and auditing

o Foreign language skills
