Job Summary
This role provides financial controllership services for the U.S. benefits and financial planning & analysis functions for the AMR HR Operations. The incumbent provides critical financial, analytical, and HR support for the administration, design, procurement, and service and delivery of group health, workplace absence, retirement, work/life, and wellness and prevention programs to employees and other participants in benefits plans sponsored by the Company. Additionally, the role is responsible for managing the purchase order process, and management reports are needed for the U.S. benefits team. Lastly, the role provides financial services (i.e., budgeting and reporting) for the AMR HR leadership team.
Job Description
- Provide financial controllership services for the total HR team in AMR (budget vs Actual Cost Control, reporting)
- Provide critical financial and analytical support for the administration, design, procurement, and service delivery
- Manage the strategic financial planning and budgeting processes
- Analyze and report C&B costs and trends to identify key cost drivers and recommend actions
- Supports efforts to develop strategic initiatives, evaluate benefit design alternatives, and determine employee contribution levels, working closely with cross-functional team members and external experts
- Teams with business Finance & Treasury organizations to ensure proper funding of benefit programs and timely payment of benefit suppliers
- Ensure regulatory compliance of HR practices and processes
- Develop, implement, manage, and audit work processes
- Benchmark the business’s cost performance vs. external industry trends
- Provide support for the supplier sourcing/renewal process and oversight related to purchase orders, including managing the purchase order process and management reports for the team
- Plays a critical role in providing financial analysis for sourcing decisions
- Collaborate with HR Operations on process improvements and system optimization
- Contribute to HR projects, including and not limited to system support & transitions
- Assist with non-discrimination resting and annual requirements
- Support audits (internal/external), inclusive of retirement plan audits
- Manage vendor performance by tracking and reviewing vendor policy/contracts, performance guarantees, and ensuring timely payment of vendors
- This position involves analytics, budget reporting, investigating cost drivers, and handling AP tasks such as working with vendors and procurement
- Additional retirement plan administration tasks, invoicing for Fidelity, pension plan cost management, and investment committee support.
Skills Required
- 8 years of working experience in accounting and financial reporting
- Benefits focused with a strong finance and accounting component
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, emphasizing the need for skills in Excel, data analysis and collaboration with benefits specialist
- Familiarity with supplier management, negotiations, and sourcing processes
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, including V-lookup and Pivot tables
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Ability to influence and make agreements with stakeholders in and outside the department
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and SAP to run reports & analysis
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at once
- Ability to maintain a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills
- Need for flexibility in the role, including handling employee escalations, vendor management audits, and identifying root causes of issues to prevent recurrence.
- 50% of the role's focus - dedicated to HR operations, highlighting the importance of data analytics, SAP experience, and total rewards expertise
Education/Training/Certifications
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, or related field
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and SAP to run reports & analysis
Pay Rate/Salary
- $50.00 - $55.00/hr. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors
