Financial Controller, North America - Dallas TX

Muehlhan Wind Serviceis looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to lead accounting and financial operations across our North American business. Based in Dallas, this position goes beyond traditional accounting and reporting. As a key business partner to operations and leadership, you will help translate project and field-level activity into actionable financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making, improved visibility, and sustainable growth.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will own the full accounting function while driving process improvements across forecasting, cash management, project costing, revenue recognition, reporting, and financial controls. The successful candidate enjoys building structure, improving processes, and partnering closely with operational teams to understand what drives profitability and performance.

What you will do:

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Prepare GAAP/IFRS-compliant financial statements, management reports, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses.

• Partner with operations leadership to monitor project performance, profitability, margins, and resource utilization.

• Manage job cost accounting for both time-and-material and fixed-price projects, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and visibility into project performance.

• Analyze project costs and operational trends to support forecasting, pricing decisions, and business planning.

• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial planning activities.

• Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, collections support, and line-of-credit administration.

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, and multi-state payroll coordination.

• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting processes, and financial compliance.

• Serve as the finance lead for ERP optimization, process automation initiatives, and future systems integrations.

• Support leadership with financial analysis, business recommendations, and strategic decision-making.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of accounting, controllership, or operational finance experience.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting.

• Experience with project accounting, job costing, WIP analysis, revenue recognition, or percentage-of-completion accounting.

• Experience supporting service, construction, field-service, industrial, energy, manufacturing, or project-based businesses.

• Strong ERP experience (Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).

• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Location & Travel

• This role is based in Flower Mound, TX, with occasional travel to Canada and Oklahoma City, OK

• Occasional travel to Denmark for strategic meetings may be required
