Are you ready to influence how one of the world"s most complex retail networks allocates resources and drives operational excellence? Amazon"s North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Finance is seeking a Financial Analyst II to be a trusted finance partner supporting operational and functional leaders. You"ll work at the intersection of finance and operations, building financial models, solving complex data challenges, and delivering insights that shape how billions of packages reach hundreds of millions of customers every year.

In this role, you"ll own end-to-end financial reporting and forecasting for fulfillment operations, establish sources of truth across disparate data systems, and proactively identify opportunities to improve controls, scale processes, and simplify reporting. You"ll partner directly with operations leaders, challenge assumptions with data-driven analysis, and implement solutions that make a measurable impact on cost management and decision-making across the network.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage development of weekly and monthly financial reviews, forecasting, and reporting models, delivering clear narratives that compare actuals against plans, identify variances, and provide actionable recommendations to operations and functional partners
  • Identify and solve complex data integrity issues by diving deep into how data flows through financial platforms, establishing the right source of truth, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement fixes that insist on the highest standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities to resolve finance issues and improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes across teams and organizations, centralizing process improvements that enable business partners to take action quickly
  • Proactively audit reporting accuracy across your work and other teams, identify incomplete or inaccurate data, determine root causes, and execute resolutions that measurably improve controllership
  • Use financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models and analyses that address difficult business questions, challenge business partner plans and assumptions when needed, and communicate findings in a clear and concise manner to drive results

A day in the life

You begin by reviewing site and regional-level financial performance, pulling actuals, comparing against plans, and building the story behind the numbers before your partners ask. Mid-morning, you"re leading a working session with operations leaders, walking them through a weekly cost review you own end-to-end, confirming data integrity and delivering recommendations backed by analysis. By afternoon, you might be deep in a process improvement, identifying where multiple teams pull the same data from different sources and getting different answers. You dig into the data flow, establish the right source of truth, and build a solution that simplifies reporting for everyone downstream. Throughout the day, you balance analytical depth with speed-forecasting next month"s outlook, pressure-testing a business case, or collaborating with peers to resolve data issues that have been quietly distorting reports.

About the team

NACF Finance supports the operations that power Amazon"s fulfillment network, including Amazon Robotics Sortable facilities with highly automated robotic floors, Traditional Sortable and Soft Lines centers handling books and apparel, Traditional Non-Sortable facilities managing larger items, Reverse Logistics teams capturing value through optimal product disposal, and Inbound Cross Dock operations aggregating demand to lower downstream handling costs. NACF Finance also includes central teams focused on variable cost financial planning and analysis, fixed cost planning and controllership, and capacity finance that strategically positions capital investments to maximize long-term value.

You"ll join a dedicated team committed to operational and financial excellence, where you"ll focus on the inputs and where every day brings new opportunities to improve processes, mentor teammates, and contribute to an inclusive environment that values and leverages perspectives from across the organization.

About the Company

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
