    Position Specific Description

    Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, the Financial Analyst will be a critical finance business partner for some of NextEra Energy Marketing five operating groups and will be responsible for the following:

    Key Responsibilities

    o Support 2-3 operating groups in development of the 5-Year Plan, Annual Budget, and Monthly Reforecasts in support of the Strategic Plan

    o Provide variance analysis and robust commentary around monthly / quarterly / annual results against budget and Reforecast

    o Use data and make recommendations to influence strategic decision-making and planning

    o Build models and develop insight that can be translated into tangible actions or value

    o Monthly Operating Group / Business Reviews

    o Develop, track and report meaningful financial metrics to leadership team to support data driven business decisions

    The ideal candidate would hold these qualifications:

    • Knowledge of Corporate Finance and its application to wholesale and retail energy markets
    • Understanding of the relationship between Accounting and Finance, including GAAP accounting principles
    • Experience designing and implementing financial models and turning models into actionable insights
    • Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with business partners
    • Ability to work independently
    • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required
    • Ability and experience leading a team in all of the above

    Highly Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Anaplan
    • Experience in natural gas markets

    Job Overview

    Employees in this role supports Senior Management decision making via financial modeling, including but not limited to, revenue requirement and customer bill impacts, discounted cash flow analysis and financial statement modeling. This position identifies and conducts moderately complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Companys financial structure, profitability, financial integrity, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department's forecasting models
    • Provides financial analysis support for various projects, calculating revenue requirements, net present value, customer bill impact, etc.
    • Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services
    • Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies
    • Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Grad / GED
    • Bachelors or Equivalent Experience
    • Experience: 1+ years

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelors - Accounting / Finance
    • Masters - Accounting / Finance
