Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Reimbursement Financial Analyst, you will begin to summarize Hospital Trial Balances and compile workpapers necessary in the filing of Medicare, Medicaid and TriCare Cost Reports and assist Reimbursement Managers in the filing of Cost reports.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Studies HCA accounting systems and contractual recording systems.
  • Completes workpapers on HCA related parties and studies costing methods of HCA hospitals and related facilities.
  • Use HFS for completion of Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports.
  • Attend training sessions.
  • Assist on Medicare workpaper reviews.
  • Attend training on HCA accounting systems.
  • Review Internal Audit reports and become familiar with accounting rules.
  • Attend training on APG 6.
  • Review monthly exhibits received from hospitals in accordance with APG 6.
  • Assists with wage index reviews and assists hospitals with review of data.
  • Attends training on Medicare and Medicaid Disproportionate Share and works with hospitals and Division Managers to document qualifications.
  • Reviews data on Medicare Bad debts and becomes familiar with regulations.
  • Is able to complete up to three Medicare Cost Reports within the first year with assistance of Reimbursement Manager.
  • Assist with providing audit documentation to Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare auditors for cost report audits, S-10 audits and wage index audits.
  • Learn how to prepare an impact analysis on income when an NPR is received from the MAC.

Job Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in relevant work experience is preferred
  • Experience in Hospital accounting, Internal Audit, or prior experience with Medicare/Medicaid Intermediary is required
