Position Overview
SubCom, LLC is seeking an entry-level Financial Analyst to support the Marine Operations team in Baltimore, MD. The Financial Analyst will provide financial analysis and decision support by assisting with budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting, and variance analysis. The role will help monitor fleet operating costs, including port expenses, spares/M&R, and consumables, while contributing to process improvements and maintaining strong financial controls.
Responsibilities
Partner with Marine Operations business leaders to support monthly forecasting and financial planning activities.
Analyze monthly financial results, identify key variances to budget and forecast, and provide actionable insights to management.
Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget and other long-range financial plans.
Support month-end close activities by validating financial data and preparing variance analyses.
Monitor operating expenses, identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve business performance.
Develop and maintain financial models, reports, and dashboards to support decision-making and improve reporting efficiency.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including Accounting and Operations, to support business initiatives, capital projects, and ad hoc financial analyses.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes through automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare and communicate financial analyses and recommendations to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Perform other FP&A and financial analysis duties as assigned.
