Summary Description

The Finance Manager plays a key leadership role across a diversified portfolio of businesses with an emphasis on berries. Supporting multiple entities, largely domestic with some international presence, this position blends strategic partnership with senior leadership and hands-on involvement in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and operational decision support with an emphasis on agricultural production cycles, and perishability-driven cost dynamics.

This role reports to the CFO and is an individual contributor at the manager level, requiring strong technical accounting and finance expertise, the ability to independently manage complex matters, and confidence engaging with executive leadership.

Requirements

Financial Reporting, Consolidation & Analysis

  • Lead consolidation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials across all entities
  • Develop detailed variance analysis with clear explanations prior to leadership and board reporting
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and decision-ready financial reporting, aligned with US GAAP
  • Partner with Accounting to support a smooth close process, analytical review, and issue resolution Ensure no audit points, clean support, and strong financial discipline across entities
  • Ensure robust crop-cost reporting, pack out performance analysis, and alignment between farm, packhouse, and commercial financials

Forecasting, Budgeting & Cash Flow Management

  •  Prepare and maintain short- and long-range financial plans, including full P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections
  • Build and enhance cash flow forecast models, incorporating seasonality, working capital, crop timing, and capital investments
  • Lead annual budget and rolling forecast processes; partner with operations and leadership on assumptions
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity analysis to support proactive decision-making in a volatile agricultural environment

KPIs & Performance Management

  • Design, standardize, and implement financial and operational KPIs, aligned with the Strategic and Annual Operating Plans
  • Develop and track key financial metrics to ensure a healthy balance sheet, including liquidity, leverage, working capital efficiency, and covenant-related measures
  • Monitor balance sheet trends across entities, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Develop dashboards, flash reports, and management reporting packages to monitor performance
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI-driven insights to financial modeling, KPI tracking, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis to support faster, more informed decision-making
  • Act as a finance partner to operational leaders to drive accountability and performance improvement

Chart of Accounts & Accounting Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Accounting to standardize and maintain the global chart of accounts
  • Ensure consistency across entities to enable meaningful consolidation, comparability, and scalability
  • Support accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance with US GAAP
  • Assist with audit preparation, quarterly reviews, and external reporting as required

Capital Projects & Strategic Analysis

  • Analyze and support capital projects including farms, packhouses, equipment, and infrastructure investments
  • Prepare financial models, ROI analysis, and post-investment tracking
  • Evaluate grower agreements, grower financing, joint ventures, and strategic business deals
  • Provide financial insight and recommendations to support disciplined capital allocation
  • Analyze and evaluate variety performance

Executive & Board Support

  • Prepare financial presentations and materials for monthly, quarterly, and board meetings
  • Provide ongoing analysis and reporting on balance sheet health, liquidity, and capital structure to support executive and Board-level decision-making
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, concise insights for senior leadership
  • Support ad hoc analysis and strategic initiatives as requested by the executive team

Business Partnership & Operations Support

  •  Leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics tools to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial processes, reporting, forecasting, and analysis across all entities
  • Act as a key finance resource to operations, supply chain, commercial teams, etc
  • Support cost accounting, margin analysis, pricing analysis, and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support operations and projects
  • Support continuous improvement of financial processes, models, and reporting tools
  • Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed, including initiatives driven by executive leadership, operations, or strategic priorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within fresh produce agriculture (berries strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience supporting multi-entity, multi-operation businesses
  • Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and cash flow analysis
  • Working knowledge of grower marketing and grower financing arrangements common in agriculture, including their financial, cash flow, and balance sheet implications
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI, automation, or advanced analytical tools
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and translate insights into business decisions
  • Strong background in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and cash flow analysis
  • Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience required (Famous preferred)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements

Job requires ability to sit for long periods of time to perform duties. Also required is the ability to walk around and make inquiries from other staff, management, etc. Must be able to bend or stoop down to access file cabinets including lifting of items or objects up to 10 pounds.
