AWS Applied AI Solutions (AAIS) is on a mission to build delightful AI solutions that enhance human capabilities and drive better business outcomes-empowering startups, SMBs, and enterprises to innovate with Amazon AI teammates.

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Finance Manager to support the AAIS SVP and VP of Finance. This role provides direct exposure to senior leadership and plays a critical role in driving financial insights and operational rigor across the organization. The Finance Manager will own financial reporting, goal management, and the calendaring and rhythm of business (RoB), ensuring alignment, transparency, and execution at the highest levels.

As part of the AAIS FP&A team, this role leads core finance processes, including financial close, outlooks, and executive business reviews. The Finance Manager is responsible for delivering accurate and timely reporting, enhancing forecasting mechanisms, and driving continuous improvements that provide clear visibility into business performance. This role partners closely with senior leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, enjoys diving deep into data to identify trends, and thrives in solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to operate independently, influence stakeholders, and consistently deliver results with a high degree of ownership and accountability.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own financial reporting, KPI tracking, and core Rhythm of Business (RoB) mechanisms, ensuring a high bar for accuracy, controllership, and alignment.
  • Perform advanced financial analysis and modeling to evaluate revenue opportunities, cost structures, and investment trade-offs.
  • Serve as a bridge between business and finance by synthesizing inputs across stakeholders and translating data into clear, actionable insights that accelerate decision-making.
  • Partner with the business to design and implement key performance indicators and reporting solutions that enable quicker, more effective decisions.
  • Identify, quantify, and drive operational and cost-saving initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, and quality of data across solutions.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
