We are seeking a Field Test Engineer to join Anduril, working in a cutting-edge start-up environment to advance the state-of-the-possible in subsea robotics.What You\'ll DoWork within a dynamic team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists throughout the life of AUV design, integration, and test effortsTake on the principal responsibilities of the hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs in the fieldLead day-to-day local operations for multiple AUV platforms, including conducting pre-mission testing, launch and recovery, vehicle tasking, and data analysisDeploy locally in support of at-sea AUV operations from a variety of support vessel typesWrite, review, and execute test plans during sea testingCoordinate test execution with 3rd party vendors, partners, and logistics companiesAuthor detailed daily operational test reports to document the step-by-step execution of internal and customer facing efforts to test and evaluate AUV platforms and new capabilitiesSupport software UI design for AUV systemsSupport user documentation for all aspects of AUV operations, including AUV user guide, mission planning guide, etc.Conduct routine design reviews of the platform under test with an eye towards improving operability and reducing learning curve for AUV at-sea operationContribute to next-generation designs and features for the ANDURIL-LD, from identifying areas for improvement to leading test and evaluation efforts for new technology rolloutsCarryout local AUV operations in Quonset, RI including supporting multiple nearshore sea test days per weekPotential to travel and support customer facing operations up to 25% of the timeRequired Qualifications5+ years experience operating robotic systems at-sea in a commercial or research offshore environmentAbility to adapt quickly and learn in a fast-paced and dynamic work environmentExperience with leading on deck operations utilizing ship based crane, a-frame, or dedicated AUV launch and recovery systemsExperience with Linux and command line interfaces as well as software debuggingKnowledge of electronics troubleshooting and basic use of test equipmentExperience with Microsoft ExcelExtremely organized and detail-orientedDemonstrated experience with subsea operational procedures and equipmentExcellent communication and customer support skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to be in office in Quonset, RI daily when not deployedAbility to potentially deploy up to 25% of the timeEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience with software developmentExperience integrating subsea acoustic sensors, underwater navigation, and communication systemsProficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings and specificationsKnowledge of offshore HSE policies and best practicesCover letter submissions highly encouragedUS Salary Range$98,000—$129,000 USDHealthcare BenefitsThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
