Job Description

Insight Global is hiring for 2 temporary Field Technicians for a 4-week project to support a client of ours at Washington Court House, OH. In this role, you will be supporting field engineering in various tasks and techniques, such as surveying, route designing, permitting, constructing and fiber optic splicing/testing. The Field Technicians will supporting our client's construction operations by assisting in loading and unloading equipment, supplies, and earthen materials for laying out the construction project.

Responsibilities:

- Using a hand shovel to dig

- Load and unload materials

- Sets up fencing, barricades, and/or safety cones to block off the work area as needed.

- Accurately read and decipher construction plans

- Ability to walk a moderate distance (up to approximately two miles) while carrying field equipment (weighing up to approximately 30 lbs.) in snow and high humidity heat

- Assist in daily pre-shift safety inspections

- Attention for detail when reviewing construction plans and cable route records

- Assist Field Engineer in all assigned activities

Physical and Environmental Demands:

- Distinguish safety colors with 20/20 eyesight using corrective lenses if necessary

- Ability to speak and hear worksite safety instructions

- Withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 30lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling

- Ability to stand for long periods (up to 14 hours at a time)

- Flexible work schedule with ability to work nights and weekends

- Reliable Transportation with travel required to OH job sight daily

- Quick and accurate hand-eye coordination to work safely

Skills and Requirements

- Proven experience working in a construction setting as a Laborer, Field Technician or similar

- Common knowledge of power tools is necessary

- Ability to comprehend specific directions in English to ensure safety of all

- Valid Driver's License

- High School Diploma/GED Experience in the telecom industry null
