We are seeking a dedicated technician to join our team at the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) IT Department. Job Overview

As a crucial member of our team, you will provide first-response support for passenger-facing technology throughout the airport. This high-mobility role involves significant walking across terminals to ensure that systems are operational and presentable for passengers and stakeholders. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting, monitoring, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of various systems, including digital displays and smart restroom technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily walk-throughs to monitor equipment functionality.
  • Respond to system alerts and trouble tickets promptly.
  • Replace, reboot, or reconfigure hardware as needed.
  • Support the installation and testing of smart restroom technology.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Update asset tracking records and documentation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Operate within both public and secure airport areas.
  • Walk long distances (5-10 miles per shift) and stand for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry equipment; climb ladders if necessary.
  • Support after-hours maintenance or emergency repairs as needed.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in IT field operations or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with digital signage systems and smart technology.
  • Basic understanding of IP networking and troubleshooting tools.
  • Comfortable with HDMI/DisplayPort, CAT6, and PoE devices.
  • Ability to obtain an airport security badge (SIDA).

Preferences

  • Experience supporting systems with near 24/7 availability.
  • Experience with large-scale digital signage deployments.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong skills in PC hardware and clean installations.
