Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of steel structure foundations and repairs.
- Perform substation foundation and repair inspections.
- Oversee wood pole treatment and testing methods.
- Oversee steel structure coating crews.
- Evaluate transmission structures to assess the health of electrical circuits.
- Assess storm damage and support emergency restoration crews.
Requirements:
- 5 years of active field experience.
- Proficient in computer skills for daily and weekly report documentation.
- Experience with photo documentation and working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Travel requirement based on project location.
- Minimum 5 years, preferably 7 years, of knowledge in transmission line work, foundations, and stringing of conductors, and transmission substations and facilities.
- Knowledge of QA/QC inspections and reporting practices.
- Knowledge of various electronics used to create reports.
Preferred Skills:
- Current and valid driver’s license.
- US Citizenship.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to create detailed reports.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Able and willing to travel in OH, PA, Virginia, WV, Jersey, Maryland, based on current location.
- Ability to drive to job location as part of the workday.
- Must be able to wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite, including hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, FR clothing, steel toe boots, protective shoes, overshoes, and insect repellent when necessary.
- Able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs or more at any given time throughout the day.
- Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per day across rough terrain and/or unlevel surfaces.
