Field Technician manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. They diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. They are responsible for the service and customer support during field visits and dispatches.

Essential Functions: • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition on the job site or in the shop. • Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep, as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections. • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assigned. • Participates in all training programs directed by Manager. • Brings to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment, or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use. • Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations. • Completes basic computer tasks, including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via email. • Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top-quality equipment is always available and customer expectations are exceeded. • Provides service and customer support during field visits or dispatches. • Ties workflow to schedule. • Manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. • Diagnoses errors or technical problems and determines proper solutions. • Produces timely and detailed service reports. • Operates vehicle in a safe manner and uses field automation systems. • Follows all companys filed procedures and protocols. • Cooperates with the technical team and shares information across the organization. • Comprehends customer requirements and makes appropriate recommendations and briefings. • Builds positive relationships with customers. • Exhibits strong teamwork. • Willing to train and assist other team members with difficult or lengthy repairs.

Required Education and Experience: • High School Diploma or GED • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment • Proven field service experience • Must have own tools • Must have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record • Ability to work flexible shifts • Military service will be considered in lieu of education, certification, or experience as applicable

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Work Environment: Environment is consistent with that of a construction environment and equipment yard.

Outdoor exposure to elements

Travel Required: Required to travel to various locations for training classes, seminars. • Drive to various vendors to acquire parts for assigned repairs. • Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites.

Physical Demands: Must be physically able to work in a jobsite environment for extensive periods, including lifting to 50lbs, bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching. Must be physically able to work in extreme conditions on job sites.

Night, Weekend, On-Call work required.
