Lonestar Forklift is an integral entity of Leavitt Industrial Group.OpportunityLonestar Forklift is looking for a mechanically skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive Mechanic) to join our Service team in San Antonio, Texas . Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDiagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machineryMaintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely mannerDiscussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirementsCommunicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sitesMaintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperworkReporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policiesRequired Skills & QualificationsAt least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industryRelevant Trade Certification an assetExperience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong assetPrevious aerial platform and lift truck experience an assetStrong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholdersExcellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical conceptsStrong work ethic and a positive attitudeHigh school diplomaValid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is requiredBenefits & PerksComprehensive medical, vision, and dental benefits for you and your dependentsLife Insurance, Short Term Disability, and Long Term Disability – 100% employer paidEmployee assistance programs401K matchingOngoing professional development opportunitiesThis is an onsite role based in San Antonio, Texas .Lonestar Forklift would like to thank all applicants for their interest; however, only qualified applicants will be contacted by Talent Acquisition for an interview.
