Position Overview
The IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) Technician is responsible for delivering installation, maintenance, and support services for client IT environments. This role supports desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and infrastructure components in operational and mission-critical environments.
This position requires 100% travel. Technicians will be deployed to client sites across various locations and must be comfortable working in dynamic environments with frequent travel.
Responsibilities include preparation, disconnection, reconnection, testing, validation, and operational handoff of IT equipment. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on technical expertise and experience supporting installation and decommissioning activities in live environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure IT equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Perform hardware installations, removals, upgrades, and restorations
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues
- Conduct routine maintenance, updates, and system checks
- Support installation, removal, and restoration of equipment on new workstations and consoles
- Execute structured cabling tasks (data and power)
- Configure and support hardware systems in operational environments
- Perform equipment disconnection, reconnection, testing, and validation activities
- Support operational handoff following deployments
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, upgrades, and repairs
- Provide on-site technical support and excellent customer service to end-users
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
- Operate effectively in mission-critical and high-availability environments
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, field services, or related role
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices
- Familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Travel Requirement
This role requires 100% travel to client sites across multiple locations
Candidates must be willing and able to travel frequently, often on short notice
Flexibility to work varying schedules based on project demands
