Job Title: Field Supervisor

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Field Supervisor to lead field-based installation activities across New York City, Westchester, and Long Island. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, high-quality, and timely execution of energy efficiency and construction projects, with a strong focus on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.

The Field Supervisor serves as the primary field leader, managing subcontractors, coordinating logistics, and overseeing quality control from initial site assessment through project completion. This is a highly hands-on role with up to 80% travel, requiring strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to field operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee field operations across multiple active job sites, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Manage subcontractors and field crews, driving accountability, productivity, and workmanship quality
  • Perform field quality control inspections on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building system installations
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and identify energy efficiency and performance improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and vendor logistics to support efficient project execution
  • Support project pricing and scope adjustments by providing accurate field input and site data
  • Complete pre- and post-installation inspections, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, building codes, and energy program requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field teams, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively to keep projects on track
  • Support energy efficiency, weatherization, and lighting initiatives, including NYPA-related work
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to field staff, reinforcing safety, quality, and performance expectations

Qualifications

  • Proven experience supervising subcontractors across multiple job sites
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
  • Experience with field inspections, QA/QC processes, and construction or energy efficiency projects
  • Familiarity with coordinating materials, vendors, and field logistics
  • Understanding of project execution within construction or energy services environments
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards (OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Experience with utility programs, energy efficiency initiatives, or building performance projects is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Additional Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience in a field-based construction or energy role
  • Experience supporting project scoping and cost adjustments based on field conditions
  • Background in HVAC installation, weatherization, or lighting retrofits preferred
  • Ability to manage projects end-to-end, from site inspection through completion
  • Comfortable working directly with clients and decision-makers in the field
  • Interest in advancing into senior field leadership or project management roles

  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 80%) across NYC, Westchester, and Long Island
  • Ability to work on active construction sites and in varying field conditions

Work Environment This is a highly field-driven position with the majority of time spent on active job sites. The role involves direct engagement with subcontractors, clients, and project teams, with significant autonomy in managing day-to-day field operations. The environment requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance, along with consistent use of field technology and reporting tools. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
