Portland Outside - Field Services Technician- servicing Boise, ID
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Field Service Engineer is to support SMC Chillers and Heat Exchangers at local customer facilities. The Field Service Engineer will leverage all SMC resources to ensure the customer is operational.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Follow operation manual and confirm mode of failure
If tools, parts, and knowledge is available, correct the issue installed.
If the issue cannot be resolved installed, coordinate a replacement product to get the tool operational.
Perform all work in accordance with the local customer requirements.
Depending on the nature of the mode of failure, send the product for repair.
After the repair is complete, return to back up chiller stock.
Successfully complete other duties as prescribed by management
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Fast paced environment
Physically capable of lifting SMC products up to 50 lbs.
Varying work hours
Frequent Travel Possible
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED - Two year Technical Degree or higher preferred
Minimum of five years field service technician experience
Basic semiconductor manufacturing fab knowledge ( Training available )
Good trouble shooting skills ( Thermal product training available )
Comfortable reading operational manuals and service manuals.
Electrical and mechanical aptitude
Well-developed communication skills
Excellent time management skills
