Position Overview

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced MEP field professional who thrives at the intersection of construction administration, client coordination, and technical problem-solving. As a Field Services Manager, you will oversee inspection workflows, construction-phase coordination, and field operations across a portfolio of high-impact building systems projects. You’ll serve as a critical link between engineering teams, contractors, architects, and ownership groups—ensuring projects are executed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with design intent.

This role is designed for someone ready to move beyond day-to-day inspections and into operational leadership. You’ll help shape field service standards, mentor teams, and influence how projects are delivered from construction kickoff through closeout. The firm is seeking a proactive, technically strong professional who can confidently navigate field challenges while building long-term relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee construction administration activities across multiple MEP projects
• Develop and maintain inspection workflows, reporting standards, and field coordination procedures
• Serve as a primary liaison between contractors, architects, clients, and internal engineering teams
• Coordinate and maintain field inspection schedules across active project phases
• Conduct field inspections and generate detailed, accurate inspection reports
• Review and respond to RFIs, change proposals, and construction-related coordination issues
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable building codes
• Interpret and review MEP construction documents, shop drawings, and technical specifications
• Support principals and project managers in maintaining technical standards and project execution consistency
• Make informed field decisions related to constructability, coordination conflicts, and installation concerns
• Monitor multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining responsiveness and project accountability
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to construction administration and field services processes

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of experience within MEP construction, field services, or consulting environments
• Field Expertise: Strong construction administration and field project management experience within Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP) systems
• Technical Knowledge: Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate MEP construction documents and specifications
• Building Systems Knowledge:
  • Electrical: Power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, access control, intercom, and security systems
  • Mechanical: HVAC systems and temperature controls
  • Plumbing: Domestic water, sanitary/storm systems, gas/compressed air, and fire sprinkler systems
• Codes & Compliance: Working knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, and construction compliance requirements
• Communication: Strong organizational, leadership, and client-facing communication skills
• Project Coordination: Ability to manage multiple active projects, schedules, and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience leading field inspection teams or construction administration groups
• Background within MEP consulting engineering firms preferred
• Experience supporting educational, institutional, or large-scale commercial projects
• Strong leadership potential with interest in long-term operational growth opportunities
• Experience coordinating directly with owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
