Field Service Technician - 1 (U.S Based)
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for installing and commissioning vertical storage solutions at customer sites. This role requires technical expertise, customer service skills, and problem-solving abilities to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Install and commission Vidir vertical storage solutions at customer sites according to project specifications and timelines.
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess installation requirements and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure.
- Assemble and configure storage units, shelves, trays, and other components by reviewing assembly manuals and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with our Support team, engineers, and customers to resolve any technical issues or discrepancies during installation.
- Commission and test equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Provide comprehensive training to customers on the operation, maintenance, and safety procedures of installed systems.
- Document installation processes, equipment configurations, and customer interactions accurately and thoroughly.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards always.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts required for installations.
- This is role that requires extensive travel requirements.
Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal; ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
Requirements
- Experience with storage systems or industrial machinery is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended durations of time
- Willingness to travel (up to 85%) to customer sites as needed and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Prior Forklift and Aerial lift certification preferred but not required
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- Ability to use MS Word, Excel and Adobe PDF
- Understanding and use of computer/tablet for digital documentation, schematics and videos
- Must live within 75 kms of a major international airport
- Must hold a valid driver's license and passport and have the ability to travel throughout Canada and the U.S.
- Must be willing to travel on a regular basis.
