Position Summary
The position also provides support to Field Services in Indiana with the exception of Power Systems. This support includes technical support and troubleshooting machine issues. This position is highly integrated with all Field Service personnel, not limited to technicians, supervisors and customers.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
Adhere to all safety rules and procedures
Provide installation and technical support on all technology products
Provide technical assistance to both Field Service personnel as well as customers
Conduct troubleshooting and problem resolution
Work with appropriate team members on issues when a technical solution is unknown
Assist Field Service team in managing the service letter program
Complete all required reporting for service time with accuracy and efficiency including but not limited to service reports, properly allocating time, and tracking parts charged and returned
Available at all times including nights and weekends
Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Technical background provided through a vocational school with studies in diesel repair
2-4 years’ Caterpillar service experience

Work Environment of Position
Position will work outdoors and have exposure to:
Occasional extreme cold (below 32°)
Occasional extreme heat (above 100°)
Occasional vibration (exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities of the whole body)
Frequent moving mechanical parts machinery (fork-lifts, tractors, mowers, and etc.)
Frequent walking or standing on uneven ground (gravel, rocks, mounds).
Frequent noise (need to shout in order to be heard)
Frequent air particles (Dust, gas, fumes, steam, chemicals, and etc)
Other Requirements of Position
Frequent travel (51-75%)
Occasional overnight travel (0-25%)
Works under general supervision. Employee acts independently to handle standard problems but usually report on such problems. More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.
Major responsibilities typically require a modest amount of creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates under general instructions with some established procedures and policies. Unusual or difficult customer interactions would be taken to Management.
If an error is made while in this position, it will take some effort to find. Errors can be fixed with some effort or expense and moderate effect on the company
