The Role
The Field Service Technician is the face of the company. This position will ensure their cutting-edge equipment operates at peak performance through expert installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This position isn’t just fixing machines; it is a consultant and partner to their customers.
Position based in the Selma - Kingsburg area of California's Central Valley.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Execution: Perform onsite installation, commissioning, and integration of complex optical and mechanical sorting systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues, ensuring minimal downtime for the customer.
- Preventative Care: Conduct preseason and postseason services to optimize machine longevity.
- Customer Advocacy: Train customers on system operation and maintenance. Act as the "voice of the customer" to the R&D and Sales teams to help improve future products.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the global team and local team in California to complete major retrofits and upgrades.
- Safety First: Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, the customers, and the community.
What You Bring
- Education: Associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical procedures.
- Strong knowledge of basic analog/digital circuits, PLC circuits, and electrical wiring.
- Experience with test equipment (voltmeters, oscilloscopes).
- PC hardware expertise (building, repairing, and software configuration).
- Soft Skills: A customer-first mindset with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in English.
- Background: 2+ years in field service; experience with packaging or printing machinery is a significant plus.
Requirements
- Travel: Willingness to travel 70% of the time, including some weekends and holidays to meet seasonal demands.
- Mobility: Valid US Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a passport for potential international coordination.
- Environment: Comfortable working in industrial settings, including food processing plants and cold storage facilities.

The base rate the company may reasonably expect to pay for this role is $26 to $35 per hour. The actual compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience.
