Position Summary
A Field Service Technician (Rotator) is responsible for maintenance and service of USA Compression equipment reporting to the Area Service Manager (ASM). With minimal supervision and significant autonomy, the typical areas of responsibility include safely performing scheduled maintenance, maintaining and building customer relationships, and providing first line support for equipment troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Perform preventive, corrective, and major maintenance on natural gas compression equipment (engines, compressors, coolers, and related systems).
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to restore equipment performance.
Conduct engine overhauls, compressor rebuilds, and component replacements.
Support start-ups, shutdowns, commissioning, and optimization activities.
Operational Support Across Regions
Travel to assigned districts to provide temporary coverage, assist with backlogs, or support new equipment deployments.
Respond to call-outs and emergency situations during rotation.
Adapt to varying equipment packages, customer sites, and operating conditions.
Responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all USA Compression safety policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
Participate in safety meetings, audits, and required training.
Maintain accurate documentation including work orders, service reports, and parts usage.
Customer & Team Collaboration
Serve as a professional representative of USA Compression at customer locations.
Communicate effectively with district leadership, dispatch, and fellow technicians.
Provide feedback on equipment performance, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.

Work Environment
Typically, an FSTs work day consists of driving a USA Compression service vehicle to customer locations to perform repair and maintenance activities. The role rotates 14 days on/off away from home to our workplace.
