Field Service Technician

Summary:

• Location: Jackson, MS
• Duration: 7 Months

Responsibilities:

• Execute field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner.
• Create and maintain a safe working environment and culture within the organization.
• Take care of company property.
• Troubleshoot systems for mechanical and electrical equipment conditions.
• Identify and remedy safety issues with both company and customer-owned equipment.
• Directly interface with customers, potentially at multiple sites with multiple technologies.
• Ensure the readiness of power equipment and track/upkeep equipment inventory.
• Perform hands-on exercising and turning of water valves and fire hydrants using hand and power tools.
• Conduct general small engine maintenance.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
• Technical experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including smart devices.
• Customer service experience.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting ability.
• Able to pass a credit check.
• Able to obtain a CDL, class A or B with applicable endorsements.
• Able to operate a company vehicle and meet driver requirements.
• Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
• Must be able to walk, write, and type frequently.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs, bend, carry, reach, push, and pull occasionally.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• May work indoors and outdoors, with exposure to extreme temperatures and noise levels where hearing protection is required.
• May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
• Some travel to other locations, meetings, and/or seminars is required.
