Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team, working within the Polyurethane Division. The role involves significant travel, working closely with a team of engineers to install, commission, and troubleshoot machines, ensuring customer satisfaction and equipment efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls from the company"s installed base, independently providing solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, IT, and engineering to develop training and educational materials for internal use and customers.
  • Conduct final testing, installation, and first-piece production sign-off.
  • Closely interact with engineering to support customer technical issues.
  • Install, commission, and train customers on equipment at their sites.
  • Read electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and bills of materials, troubleshooting using basic electrical skills.
  • Understand PLC logic and similar machine controls.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, working independently on-site with customers while maintaining strong customer interface skills.
  • Work in hot and cold temperature extremes typical of warehouse or industrial environments.
  • Possess a valid driver"s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • High-level knowledge of machine functions, including hydraulics, pumps, fluid systems, and dispensing.
  • Ability to read and edit prints in AutoCAD.
  • Experience working with ladder logic.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High-level PLC/HMI knowledge.
  • A preference for a bachelor"s or associate"s degree in a related field, though not required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr.
